When it comes to skincare, most people often think about their face. However, skin is our biggest organ, and we need to take extra special care of every inch of it. Take a look at these top tips on how you can look after yours.

Always Wear Sunscreen
No matter what the weather is doing, the sun is still up there in the sky beating down harmful UV rays, which can cause premature skin aging and even some cancers. To reduce those risks, it’s vital to apply and reapply sunscreen every day as part of your skincare routine.

Drink Water
There is nothing better for the skin than drinking water and studies have shown that drinking enough water per day helps how your skin looks. So, make sure you are drinking the recommended number of glasses a day for hydration from the inside out!

Exfoliate Regularly And Gently
Exfoliation is the key to gorgeous, glowing skin. Buff away built-up dead skin cells, so that your complexion can better catch the light. Don’t scrub extra hard though, be gentle.

Be Kind To Yourself
Enjoy cleaning and washing, be kind to your body and gentle with your skin. Moisturise after a bath or shower, use disposable washcloths to be kind to your more intimate areas, massage your feet with foot moisturizer and use moisturizing gloves and socks when you’re in bed.

Never Wear Makeup To Bed
This can cause clogged pores and potential breakouts so always wash your face with a gentle cleanser to get rid of impurities, dirt, bacteria, and more before hopping into bed.

Get Enough Sleep
Depriving your body of sleep can negatively affect your productivity as well as harm your skin. Studies have shown that poor quality sleep increases signs of aging and can diminish skin barrier functions. Keep your skin looking and feeling its best, by getting the recommended amount of sleep every night.

Watch Your Diet
Your diet can also affect your skin as well as your waistline, so make sure you stick to a colorful diet of fruits and vegetables.

A study has shown that psychological stress can increase the risk of acne. Try some stress-relieving tactics to help calm your nerves. Whether it's curling up with a good book, taking a bath or listening to soothing music…whatever it takes to help you unwind.

Be Careful Of Irritants
If you have sensitive skin, avoid products that are formulated with fragrance, parabens, sulfates, and other harsh ingredients. Reduce the risk of irritation, by opting instead for products that indicate on the packaging that they are either explicitly formulated for sensitive skin or are suitable for use on sensitive skin types.

Stop Smoking
While there are plenty of reasons why you should stop smoking, it's not always mentioned about the impact it can have on your skin. A study has shown that tobacco smoke can cause premature skin aging, so stomp out the cigarette!
