The Cleaning Hacks That Will Make You The Next Mrs Hinch In No Time

by - November 12, 2018

You've probably heard of Mrs Hinch; she’s Sophie Hinchcliff, a ‘cleaning mad’ lady from Essex, who's Instagram following has grown substantial amounts in the last 6 months alone. In April 2018, she had just 1000 followers. Now, in November 2018, she has 1.2 million followers and her numbers continue to rise!

At just 28 years old, Sophie has her very own ‘Hinch Army’, and people are clamoring over one another in shops like Poundland and B&M just to get their hands on some of her most coveted products. Mrs Hinch’s Instagram page shows off her beautiful, immaculate home. Decorated in luxurious shades of grey and white, you can see that things are kept absolutely spotless - and she admits that she spends at least 30 minutes per day cleaning. These pictures gain thousands of likes and comments, and Sophie says that some days, she’ll gain 35,000 followers in one single day. She has become a cleaning sensation overnight, and even appeared on This Morning in the UK with Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to share some of her favorite tips and products.

Below, we’ll talk you through some of the cleaning hacks that will make you the next Mrs Hinch in no time.

Mrs Hinch’s Most Popular Cleaning Tips

Use Fabric Conditioner To Clean Your Doors
This might sound like a strange tip, even to those who are seasoned cleaners. Using fabric conditioner mixed with water will get rid of marks on doors without taking away any paint, so you can have peace of mind.

A Great Smelling Bin
Yes, you can have a clean smelling bin! Clean with disinfectant spray, then use Zoflora to wet some kitchen roll, fold it up, and leave it in the bottom of the bin before adding the bin bag. Genius!

Using Zoflora In The Sink
Zoflora keeps on selling out because of Mrs Hinch’s love for it. This is a budget disinfectant liquid, and is her go-to when she’s doing numerous household chores. Sophie pours soda crystals down the plug hole, uses a white vinegar spray, and then rinses it with Zoflora. She then pours boiling water over it to rinse out the mixture.

Keeping Your Rug Clean
This is a cleaning tip Sophie shared from one of her very own Hinch army members. To keep your rug clean, use one capful of fabric conditioner mixed with washing gel, add warm water and mix it up before wiping onto the rug with a clean cloth.

Removing Stains From The Hob
Removing stains from the hob is easy with a cloth and cleaning paste The Pink Stuff. Rinse with another wet cloth and repeat as needed.

Removing Food Mess From Wooden Floors
Use a degreaser, then an electric toothbrush and cloth to get rid of debris.

Say Goodbye to Gross Mattress Stains
Use bicarb on the affected area on your mattress, and wear latex gloves as you rub it in. Vacuum it off after around an hour for a lovely mattress like new.

Make Your Fridge Look Shiny And New
There’s nothing worse than a smelly, grubby fridge. Empty your fridge out, take the shelves out, and fill the bottom shelf with washing up liquid and disinfectant. Use this to wipe down the inside and outside, before removing marks with cleaning paste. Then, leave the shelves to dry.

Keeping Your Washing Machine Clean
Use a bathroom spray in the drawer, before using limescale remover in the gap where the drawer goes. Use a bathroom spray after pulling back the rim and wipe down with an electric toothbrush to get rid of dirt. For cleaner laundry, buy a high quality cleaning product and stay on top of your washing machine hygiene.

Avoid Streaky Mirrors
Use white vinegar spray and a fluffy cloth to get rid of smears on your mirrors.

How Long Should You Spend Cleaning Every Day?
If you want a beautiful, clean home like Mrs Hinch, 30 minutes per day of cleaning should suffice. This is how long Mrs Hinch cleans herself each day. It’s better to do it this way than to leave it a while until you have lots of work to do at once. She says she is happy to leave it if she’s busy, although she can’t sleep without cleaning the sink!
