Netflix Children's Shows to Binge Watch This Halloween

by - October 13, 2018

I am not one of those moms who are anti TV. Frankly, I will let Milo do just about anything from tossing the sofa cushions onto the floor, to finger painting the table, to even watching the ohhhh so frowned upon and dreaded TV. I know, I know, I'm going straight to Bad Mom hell, but hey when your a single mom and need to work you learn to pick and choose your battles. Plus, I was a couch potato before entering into motherhood and love the cinema and TV. So one of our favorite things to do is snuggle up and watch the tube. These are some of our favorite shows and movies we have been watching throughout October to get us into the Halloween spirit.

Show Bio
Despite his family's generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead. After meeting a charming trickster named Héctor, the two new friends embark on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.

Personal Thoughts
I can't believe it has taken this long to get a movie like this! The traditions and culture of Mexico are so lively and vibrant which makes for the ideal children's movie full of ghostly color. Milo loves the music and all the pasted spirits in this Pixar instant classic.

Super Monsters

Show Bio
The kids of famous monsters come together at a special preschool. As a group, they must train the skills they inherited from their parents and have them good-to-go for kindergarten.

Personal Thoughts
I honestly have not seen a cuter show in ages. Probably, since the release of land before time... The first one. This is the ideal binge worthy show for kiddos this Halloween. Charming little monsters teach sharing, kindness, and friendship among many other lessons perfect for young developing children.

Show Bio
A ragtag group of heroes go on adventures and protect the vast Skylands universe from evil.

Personal Thoughts
I am dying by the fact I can share one of my favorite childhood characters with my son. Skylands is the cartoon version of the back story from the early 2000's video game Spyro. Spyro was my favorite game as a kid. I spent hours playing it and have seriously been considering hitting up a Gamestop for a vintage PlayStation. Not like I have the time to play a game, but if you have never played it and are into games this is a must try for you and maybe even children. If they can pry the controller out of your hands. It was seriously that good.

Dragons

Show Bio
This computer-animated series, based on the 2010 film "How to Train Your Dragon," follows the continuing adventures of young dragon trainer Hiccup and his loyal dragon companion, Toothless, on the island of Berk. The band of dragon trainers, who all now have dragons of their own, are also featured. Through the training, the kids have developed special bonds with their dragons by learning about each animal's unique powers, discovering new species and battling new villains -- all while exploring new worlds they never imagined. Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera are among the movie's original voice actors who reprise their roles in the series.

Personal Thoughts
I don't know about anyone else, but I am loving the animation in these new computer cartoons. It can be a little difficult to find a show that both Milo and I can enjoy because he, well, is two, and I am obviously not. So our tastes vary slightly, but Dragons manages to keep mine and Milo's attention. This is a thrilling cartoon I'm sure the whole family would love.

Dinotrux

Show Bio
Ty Rux and Revvit inhabit a world of giant creatures that are half dinosaur and half truck.

Personal Thoughts
Anything with crashing, crushing, wheels and destruction is a win in our house. Milo is all boy when it comes to his television interests. Dinotrux is filled with positive lessons and loads of bashing and busting.

As always don't forget to share and subscribe! Until next time thanks for reading!
