My Makeup Must Haves | Affordable

by - January 09, 2018

As a single mom I don't always have the time or desire to apply full glam on the daily. Though I am still a lady, so when I leave the house I like to look as presentable as I can. A simple, dewy, neutral everyday look is my go to when I do get a minute to glam for my errands. These are my favorite daily use, affordable cosmetics.

bareMinerals

Face
For my face I like to keep things light and simple. My thoughts are if you have a good skin care routine you won't need to use as much makeup. To check out my skincare routine click here. I am lucky enough to not suffer from too many skin ailments. I do have a bit of redness and very dry skin, but with a good sensitive moisturizer and a light blend of foundation my imperfections are basically covered. These are my current facial favorites.

Eyes
I love simple, natural, quick and easy eye makeup. The Ellen Tracy Day to Night palette makes going from running errands in town to dancing downtown super easy. This is the only pallet I am using at the moment. I like to find multipurpose pallets and use them until they are gone, then get another. This helps keep clutter to a minimum.

Ellen Tracy Day to Night

This eyeliner was actually an emergency purchase while traveling. Though it turned out amazingly. I love this eyeliner. The lid has a built in sharpener and the opposite end has a blender buff to soften the line for a smore smokey look. Even though I bought this because it was an all in one convenience I have purchased this again and again. I even keep one in my purse incase of a makeup emergency.

I am not too picky when it comes to mascara. However, I bought the L'Oréal Paris Voluminous at the supermarket when I had a coupon. I ran out of my previous brand and thought I would give it a try. I love it! It's a simple one step mascara. The brush isn't frilly or any funny materials or shapes like some others I've tried. This is a simple, classic product...Unlike the IT Cosmetics Superhero. On days I am feeling a bit more sassy I like to use the IT Cosmetics Superhero. I have never worn false lashes but this product makes my lashes HUGE! I wouldn't even need falsies. I received a sample of this as a birthday gift from ULTA and keep it in my purse. When the trial is gone I definitely plan on making this a regular purchase item.

Lips
I have jumped on the bandwagon with Lipsense. Not even going to deny it! I have been sweet talked by luscious long wear colored lips and sipped the Lipsense kool - aid without a smidgen of color transfer. I have been seeing this product everywhere lately! It's like the millennials Avon. With having a friend who is currently selling it, I figured I would give it a try. Since then I have become obsessed! It's no joke when they say it is kiss proof, smudge proof, possibly even nuclear bomb proof. Trust me at the end of the day I am rubbing this off with the Lipsense specially formulated lipcolor remover. It took me a bit to get the hang of the unique application process, but now I am a lip color ninja. If you have any Lipsense questions feel free to ask away in the comments! I will be happy to answer or you can also ask my friend Lisa who is a professional Lipsense Distributor through her social media here:

    1. I am too! There are so many brands and in those brands are dozens of various styles. It's a lot of trial and error and wasted money finding the good ones

  2. Oh I love E.L.F! Might to try this one!
Im not a massive makeup person, but when I do wear makeup, I love Bare Minerals. On days I just want a little coverage I use their PrimeTime BB Primer -Cream. Has SPF30 in it. It's so lightweight and has great coverage. I have very dry skin so this product works well with my skin. I also use Osea essential hydrating oil.
