Holiday Hot Chocolate 3 Ways

Is there anything that screams "Happy Holiday's" more than a nice creamy cup of hot cocoa? I sure don't think so. Hot beverages, twinkle lights, and snow falling outside the window makes for the most perfect winter moment. These twists on the traditional season staple are so creamy and delicious you may never want to unsnuggle. So cosy up in front of a fire, with your softest blanket and put on a holiday film because here are three of the most decadent, rich, and velvety smooth hot chocolate recipes I have found yet!

White Hot Chocolate

3 cups milk
1 cup half and half or heavy cream
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
pinch of salt
whipped cream & holiday sprinkles

Add all ingredients to a medium pot over medium heat. Warm, while whisking, until the Ghirardelli Classic White Chocolate have melted and the hot chocolate is smooth. Be careful not to let the chocolate boil. Serve with whip cream and sprinkles. Enjoy!


Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

4 cups milk
1/4 cup water
1 tsp red food coloring 
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup sugar
4 tbsp whipped cream cheese (room temp)

In a Stand Mixer mix sugar and heavy whipping cream. Whip with whisk attachment for about 2 minutes, until combined. Add in cream cheese and whisk for another 2 minutes. Over medium heat in a medium pan add in milk, water, and Ghirardelli Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips, constantly stirring gently. When chocolate chips are melted add in food coloring and stir. Be careful not to boil. Pour into mug and top with whipped cream and sprinkles. 

Classic Hot Chocolate 

4 cups heavy cream
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

In medium sauce pan heat over medium heat Ghirardelli Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips, cream, and pinch of salt. Stirring constantly until almost melted add in vanilla. Be careful not to boil and once smooth pour into mug and top with marshmallows.
