Baby Registry Must Haves | New Baby Checklist

by - December 19, 2017

Preparing to welcome a new baby into your life and trying to figure out what to add onto your registry can be enormously overwhelming. It is all a lot to take in. Bringing a baby into the world and trying your best to prepare yourself for the adjustment into parenthood is a hefty and joyous task. Babies may be small but they need a lot and will burn through products such as diapers, wipes, lotions, soaps, etc. like crazy. Having a registry list that steers your family and friends in the direction of items you actually want and really need will be super helpful to you all.

What is a baby registry?
A baby registry is a wishlist of the baby items you would like for your new baby. This can be shared with baby shower guests, family, and friends, or just a checklist for yourself. Your baby registry should include all sorts of baby essentials such as onesies and blankets all the way to strollers and cribs.

When to register?
Completing your baby registry can take some time. It's a lot of work going through all the baby items, doing research and reading reviews. You can start your registry any time, but waiting until your second trimester to make it public is recommended. If you are planning on finding out the gender of your new baby that would be a great time to share your registry with your family and friends. That way they can help you prepare and your registry can be completed with the gender targeted items that you love.

Where to register?
It was suggested to me to register at more than one retailer. Try having an online and in store registry. Babies R Us and Target have a super fun in store registry process. The Baby Registry Associate will give you a scanner and when you find an item you like, just shoot it with the laser scanner. Super fun, I highly enjoyed it. This will automatically load it onto your online and in store registry for that retailer. I also recommend Amazon Baby Registry. Amazon is the easiest by far and has a wide array of baby products, brands, and price ranges to fit any budget. You can also add items from any website onto your Amazon Baby Registry.  Most stores who sell baby items will have a baby registry service such as:

Walmart

Amazon

Kmart

Pottery Barn Kids

Buy Buy Baby

Babies R Us
